Quick Hearty Stroganoff

Condensed cream of mushroom soup with sour cream or plain yogurt, canned mushrooms and freezer meatballs make a hearty stroganoff main dish.

Directions

In a medium saucepan, mix one can (10 and three-fourths ounce), of condensed cream of mushroom soup and one-half cup sour cream or plain yogurt.

Gently stir in 1 cup freshly sliced or canned mushrooms. Add family meal-size portion of freezer meatballs, two to four per person depending on age or person and size of meatball.

Simmer on medium low until meatballs are heated. Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package directions.

Drain noodles when cooked and serve meatball mixture atop the noodles.

Beef stroganoff was invented in St. Petersburg, Russia, by a Russian chef, according to legend. It is beef cooked with mushrooms in a sour-cream based sauce and served over egg noodles.
